Meet The Designer: KAJAL RAMRUP

Futuristic, gender-free jewelry for the boldly authentic

Before I ever met Kajal, I felt like I already knew her through a pair of unforgettable earrings I picked up at Art to Ware. They were clear, squiggly, and totally wild in the best way. I’m a sucker for a great statement earring, and everywhere I went, people would stop me and ask, “Where are those from?” My answer: Planet K

So when I finally met the artist behind the piece, it felt like meeting an accessory celebrity. Kajal Ramrup is part of the Italian-based design collective PWC Milano, and her brand Planet K is one of the most exciting lines we’ve carried.

Kajal launched Planet K in late 2023 after years of experimentation with resin and wearable art. The brand’s origin story begins with her first pair of Crystal Clear Drip earrings. the very ones that started it all.

Now based in NYC (after starting the brand in Milan), Kajal is building a movement of expressive, gender-free jewelry that blends gothic punk, nature, and playful textures into futuristic art objects you can wear.

Her creations aren’t just accessories they’re miniature sculptures meant to provoke joy, reflection, and connection. “I love miniaturizing big ideas. Jewelry is the perfect scale for me, it lets me express myself fully without compromising detail.”

“Planet K is about freedom, authenticity, and pushing back against a world that wants us all to fit into neat little boxes.” Kajal expresses.

Each piece is intentionally made to be one-of-one, with a process rooted in low waste, material experimentation, and storytelling. Kajal pulls inspiration from moss, slime, mixed media sculpture, and maximalism.

A proud moment? Showing on two NYFW runways with Art Hearts Fashion and DapperQ. And she’s just getting started: upcoming collections include pieces in sterling silver, tin solder, and glass, plus new experiments in grillz, press-ons, and hair extensions. Collabs are on her wishlist too.

Planet K pieces are for those who dare to be different, and Kajal hopes each one reminds you of your power to stand out. “I want people to feel unique, free, and authentic. Planet K is a no-judgment zone.”

I can feel it when I wear them.
